Aura Colours & What They Mean

We all have an aura, even animals, plants, trees, rocks etc. The aura is the electromagnetic field which surrounds our body or an object. Your aura usually consists of more than one colour at a time, but one colour may be more dominant than the others.

The colours vary according to a person's physical condition or emotions at that particular time. The aura can be seen either around the whole body or around the head and shoulder area. Auras can be 'seen' with the eye or can be 'sensed', giving you a mental picture of a colour in your mind. Some people naturally are able to see auras, but with a bit of practice, you can learn how to see and read them.

If you want to see your own aura, try this exercise;

  1. Stand in front of a good sized mirror in a well lit room, daylight is best.
  2. Relax and look ahead at your head and shoulder area.
  3. Let your eyes slightly go out of focus, don't strain your eyes at all.
  4. If you are totally relaxed you may see a glow around your head and shoulders which may be one colour or maybe a few colours blending into each other.
  5. Don't worry if the first time you try this, nothing happens. Try again another day. "Practice makes perfect".

If you want to practice reading a friends aura, ask your friend to stand in front of a plain white wall or door (I use my husband's white projector screen)! The same principle applies.

  • Relax, don't strain your eyes, let them go slightly out of focus.
  • Look just to the side of your friends body, without staring directly at them, which would probably make them feel uncomfortable.
  • Just for a few seconds you may see a glow of light surrounding your friends head and shoulders or even around their entire body. This again may be one or more colours.

You may not see the colour physically, you may sense a colour in your mind. This is perfectly natural. If you see more than one colour, the most dominant colour is their aura colour.
Remember that a person's aura changes all the time, depending on their mood, emotions and physical health at that time.
